Individual therapy
Individual therapy for adults and older adolescents.
One-to-one support for anxiety, low mood, stress, relationships and life transitions, and for patterns that keep repeating, however hard you try to change them.

Who this may support
Is this for me?
Individual therapy may suit you if you’re dealing with:
- Anxiety, worry, or feeling constantly on edge
- Low mood, flatness or loss of motivation
- Work stress, burnout or major change
- Grief and loss
- Self-criticism, people-pleasing or difficulty setting boundaries
- Relationship patterns you’d like to understand and change
Karen works with adults and older adolescents (16 and over).
What therapy can help you explore
Things we might work on
Schema Therapy can be particularly useful when difficulties are long-standing. It helps you identify “schemas”: deep patterns of thinking and feeling that often developed early in life. It also helps you understand how they show up today.
- Why certain situations trigger strong reactions
- Unmet emotional needs and how to meet them now
- Replacing unhelpful coping patterns with healthier ones
- Building a kinder, steadier relationship with yourself
Karen’s approach
How Karen works
Karen tailors therapy to you, combining Schema Therapy, trauma-informed care and practical strategies, and drawing on EMDR, CBT, ACT, DBT and mindfulness-based approaches where they fit.
Sessions are collaborative: you’ll agree on goals together and check in regularly on whether the work is helping.
What sessions involve
What sessions might look like
Early sessions focus on understanding your history and what you want to change. Later sessions build skills and explore patterns in more depth, at a pace that feels manageable.
